I know, I know

... it's been a while since my last post. I have no excuses.

We did end up going to Eugene last weekend. It was fun; we got to see some people, do a few fun Eugene-only stuff, get some tax/free shopping in, etc. We had to help Dad pack, and we ended up getting a lot done, so that was good.

We've seen a little bit of regression of behaviour since the trip. With Odin, I suspect it is because he had the chance to see how much he is now missing from the only life he knew before. With Freya, it's probably because she had a bad cold for a while. Both of them are acting out and being disobedient (Odin more) and Freya is having lots of trouble getting through the night without waking up to eat a lot.

Odin did get the chance to stay overnight at Armstrongs house in Eugene, though. That was good for him. He had a lot of fun. Freya stayed every night at Grandma's house, which was great for her because she got to have fun and hang out (and great for us because we got to sleep!).

Alyssa's classes have been going well. Keeps her busy. She's now marking assignments from the class she assists. She's discovering that the opportunities for work and performance here are abundant, so she is (of course) signing up for every project that calls for works. It's a typical Alyssa thing, but she somehow manages to pull it all off. I helped her edit her Masters' Thesis research proposal today, and let me tell you, it's a good one!

I've slacked off in my own studies quite a bit, so this week I'm kicking my butt back in to shape and getting back to it. I'll also be in a German class every Thursday starting this week. What happened to the French lessons? Linda and I found it hard to find reliable times to meet, and we sort of lost contact with each other, so that just kinda dropped off.

All in all, we're having a great time. We definitely miss some things we were reminded of in Eugene, but it's going well here. :)

It begins!

A lot has been going on around here. Freya just a day or two ago finished getting her 2-year molars, or at least I think so since she isn't complaining as much. They aren't all the way through, but they must be about done. Odin has been sounding out letters to read words, and he's actually pretty good at it! He also can't wait to start his hockey and French lessons.

Alyssa spent most of today in an orientation for her teaching duties. She is apparently part of a union, with benefits and such, and she is really excited to begin.

The weather has been very warm around here, and we're enjoying as much of the sun as we can before the season changes. I spend most of my time just hanging out with the kids, so we hit a lot of parks and forest trails and such.

We'll be taking a trip down to Eugene next week. Mostly we'll be helping Dad pack up his things for his move to Salem, but we'll also see some of our favourite people and places. Should be fun.
