Back to BC

Well, we had a fun trip. I'm sitting on the train with the kids right now and it's taking off for home. The conductor seated us early so we could get on and get a nice table seat before the train started getting really crowded, so that was nice.

We went up to Portland last Thursday and stayed with Mom, Mark, and Jake. It was really nice being at their place because they're so laid back and we all just kinda hung out. They live across the street from a mall so there was lots to walk around and see, and a nice play area for the kids. Alyssa left early Friday morning to head back home and get things ready and get a little time for her work. I had the kids but it wasn't so bad. Freya actually did really well at night, I was surprised. Hopefully this whole weekend will have helped serve to wean her from nursing so much.

I got to enjoy some of Mom's delicious cooking, which was nice. We mostly just hung out and talked and that sort of thing; nice, easy end to our trip. It's a shame we had to leave so early, but I think we were all getting a little restless and I'd like to spend some time at home before the new school term starts up.

We had a lot of fun on this trip. Didn't quite get to see everybody and do everything, but we still got a lot out of it. And there's always more trips. Hopefully some relatives will get their passports so they can come visit us..... (hint hint)
